The DUSA Story

Founded in 2001, The Deakin University Student Association (DUSA) was formed when the separate and autonomous campus unions (Burwood Association of Students - BAS; Geelong Association of Students - GAS; and Warrnambool Association of Students - WAS; and the Rusden Association of Students - RAS) amalgamated.

The amalgamation was seen as an opportunity to strengthen Student Unionism, as well as to streamline operational costs, allowing more spending on student services.

With thousands of members, DUSA representatives are elected, and governed by a student council and campus-based committees.
